Portuguese Public Administration

Issue and receive invoices from the Public Administration. With Decree-Law No. 123/2018, the Portuguese State made it mandatory for invoices to be issued electronically for the Public Administration.

Mandatory Dates:

April 18, 2020 – Public Entities (foundations and public associations, local administration including Parish Councils, and other entities);
December 31, 2020 – Large Companies (with more than 250 employees or a turnover exceeding €50 million or a balance sheet of €43 million);
June 30, 2021 – Small and Medium Enterprises;
December 31, 2021 – Microenterprises and other public entities supplying the State.
